Pala Narayan Nair [1911- 2008]

[ Famous works: Keralam Valarunnu, Amritha Kala, Vilakku Koluthoo...]

In the land of Kerala,

Dews of love shining-

In the grasslands,

The river giggled along-

Romantic shores of the,

Changambuzha poet,

The river from Pala.

Village a spirit,

Spirit of the land,

In the grass, in the rocks,

In the soil.

Passion that spills,

Scent of Kerala.

Though someone called his men as

People with psychiatric problems.

Never forgets his motherland.

Not just singing the Kerala song,

It streamed in the strings.

It streamed in the veins.

Dream of a liberal one world,

Dream of freedom,

Is that worse than slavery?

Ignited Gandhi's thoughts,

Gandhi became his song.

Flowing into a big poem.

The poem of Gandhi.

Will the story of Gandhi

In search of truth,

Be the sole remedy?
