[Famous Book: Krishnaghaadha]
In the 15th century,
In the land of Kolathiri,
In the land of Cheru Cheri,
Cherusseri poet flourished.
Named after the land.
The first epic poem of,
Malayalam,
Bloomed on the shores of
Kolathiri.
Songs on Krishna,
Sung for Krishna,
One after the other,
Like a waterfall,
Churned into a sea,
A sea of words,
Verse of Krishna,
Krishnagaadha.
Men doubted the
Mother of that sea,
With the vastness of poems,
Confused even the men of wisdom.
Called it Poonathil poet,
and the Cherusseri poet.
With many stories
Flying in the air,
In the name of the mother of epic,
With the names of Houses,
Cherusseri house or Poonathil house.
Men still doubt,
The mother of poems,
Verse of Krishna-Krishnagaadha.
Then comes the history,
His story of the land,
The land of Kolathiri,
With 12 streets known as 12 Cheris,
1
street as1 cheri,
Then cheru-cheri,
Must be Cherusseri.
Many said, It’s the house and
Street of Cherusseri.
Men always sang the song.
With doubts, uttered the words,
Cherusseri, Cherusseri,
The verse of Krishna,
Bhagavatha stories,
Men worry about meters,
Of the poem.
Still the beauty,
Flows like a river.
No songs you sing,
With such an ease,
No river you swim
With such an ease.
No words flow in the mind,
With such peace,
Like the verse of Krishna.
On the shores of Malabar,
On the shores of Vadakara,
On the shores of Kolathiri,
15th-century moulded,
A name of pride,
Known by name,
Cherusseri. Cherusseri.
